Chong Won-o, the Democratic Party of Korea's Seoul mayoral candidate, will visit the East Seoul Mail Distribution Center at 12 a.m. on the 21st, when the official campaign period begins. Party leader Jung Chung-rae and other members of the party leadership will accompany him to back Chong's bid.
Lee Jeong-heon, head of communications and chief spokesperson for Chong Won-o's election committee, held a briefing at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 20th and said, "The first item on the official campaign schedule will begin at the East Seoul Mail Distribution Center," adding, "We chose the distribution center to signify delivering a new change for Seoul."
The chief spokesperson said, "On Apr. 28, when the campaign operation went into full swing, Chong held a performance in which he received 'policy parcels' containing citizens' policy proposals and ideas from the chairpersons of the 25 district committees in Seoul," adding, "He plans to visit a site where mail and logistics work continues even while citizens sleep, encourage the workers, and directly take part in parcel sorting to lend a hand."
Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party's Seoul mayoral candidate, will visit the Garak-dong agricultural and marine products wholesale market at 12 a.m. on the 21st.
Shin Seon-jong, head of communications for Oh Se-hoon's election committee, said, "Because Garak Market is related to the market economy, we announced it with 'We will awaken the economy,'" explaining, "Starting the first schedule at Garak Market signals a focus on the economy, especially the everyday economy for ordinary people."
He added, "We also plan to tour the site at Garak Market and meet merchants such as wholesalers."
