Han Dong-hoon, an independent candidate running in the Busan Buk-gu Gap by-election, said he would block the Democratic Party of Korea's controversy over canceling indictments by winning. Han said that if he loses, the rebuilding of the conservative camp will also be shaken.
On the 17th at the campaign committee launch event, Han said, "We will surely win and smash the Democratic Party of Korea's tyranny and violence, such as canceling indictments," and added, "We must stop the attempt to destroy the Constitution and cancel indictments to erase one's own crimes."
He added, "If I win the Buk-gap by-election in Busan, the Lee Jae-myung administration will not even be able to think of provisions to cancel indictments."
He also said, "If we do not win, the Democratic Party of Korea and the Lee Jae-myung administration will push ahead with provisions to cancel indictments, and Buk-gap will remain at the level of 20 years ago." He added, "Far from rebuilding the conservative camp, the party establishment faction of Jang Dong-hyeok will merely survive."
Han continued, "During the 20 years when Park Min-sik, the People Power Party candidate in the Buk-gap by-election, and Chun Jae-soo, the Busan mayoral candidate, served as members of the National Assembly, Busan's Buk-gu did not develop," and added, "In just over a month since I came to Buk-gap, the mood has changed, it is bustling, and people and money are gathering."
Han said, "Winning (this time) in the Busan Buk-gap by-election is fulfilling a historic duty, and if we lose, it is committing a crime against history."
