Han Jeong-ae, a Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker (Gangseo-byeong, Seoul), said on the 15th that she had secured 2.2 billion won in earmarked tax (special) from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to resolve local pending issues.
The secured earmarked tax (special) will fund 1.8 billion won for building the "Youth Culture House" in Eomchang-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and 400 million won for installing road heating cables in "snow removal vulnerable sections" in Hwagok 4-dong.
The Eomchang-dong Youth Culture House will serve as a cultural and educational space for local teenagers, with amenities such as a lounge, a futsal court, and a study cafe. Han's office explained that there are eight elementary, middle, and high schools and a large apartment complex near the construction site, so the facility is expected to see high utilization.
The Hwagok 4-dong road heating project for snow removal vulnerable sections involves installing road heating cables on steep back roads and will be carried out in areas where the risk of vehicle and pedestrian accidents has been consistently raised each winter snowfall. In addition, road repaving, curb maintenance, and anti-slip pavement restoration will be pursued together.
Han Jeong-ae said, "By securing this earmarked tax (special), we have been able to expand cultural spaces for teenagers and strengthen snow removal infrastructure in sections with high risks of safety accidents for residents in winter," adding, "We will continue to do our best to secure budgets for projects directly tied to residents' daily lives."
