The Democratic Party of Korea selected attorney Kim Young-bin of Seungbon Law Firm as its fourth talent recruit. Kim is expected to run in the by-election for National Assembly member in Gongju, Buyeo, and Cheongyang in South Chungcheong, the constituency of Democratic Party of Korea gubernatorial candidate for South Chungcheong Park Soo-hyun.
Jung Chung-rae, the Democratic Party leader, said at the fourth talent recruitment ceremony held at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 8th, "Attorney Kim was born in Gongju, South Chungcheong, and is a Gongju person to the core," and "For 10 years as a prosecutor, Kim strove to correct the injustices of the world and firmly establish justice."
Born in 1980, Attorney Kim is from Gongju, South Chungcheong. Kim graduated from Gongju National University High School and the law school of Korea University. A member of Judicial Research and Training Institute class 37, Kim served as a prosecutor for 10 years. Kim began as a prosecutor at the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office and worked at the Ministry of Justice's Policy Planning Division and the Office of the Policy Advisor to the Minister. After that, Kim joined Shin & Kim LLC and then served at Dunamu as chief legal officer (CLO), a vice president-level position.
At the recruitment ceremony, Attorney Kim said, "In the Special Investigation Team of the Prosecutorial Past Affairs Committee, I sought to uncover the truth hidden in the shadow of power and to establish 'no-holds-barred' justice," and added, "A capable generational shift—Kim Young-bin, who is prepared—will begin by proving with a new perspective of someone in their 40s that Gongju, Buyeo, and Cheongyang can make a greater leap as a magnificent first step."
