Han Wang-gi, a preliminary candidate for Pyeongchang county head from the Democratic Party of Korea, held a campaign office opening ceremony on the 7th and launched full-scale stump activities.
That morning at 10 a.m., Han held the opening ceremony at the campaign office set up in Pyeongchang-eup. In addition to Woo Sang-ho, the Democratic Party gubernatorial preliminary candidate for Gangwon Province, National Assembly member Baek Seung-ah and others attended. Those who competed against Han in the Pyeongchang county head primary also joined to vow a "one-team" resolve.
Preliminary candidate Woo Sang-ho said in congratulatory remarks, "Pyeongchang, which successfully won and hosted the Olympics, is the area with the greatest growth potential in Gangwon Province," adding, "If preliminary candidate Han Wang-gi and I are elected together, we will surely achieve Pyeongchang's remarkable development together."
Those who could not attend in person lent support to the opening with video messages. National Assembly member Heo Yeong said, "I do not doubt the competence shown by preliminary candidate Han's 34 years in public service and during the seventh popularly elected term as county head," adding, "I will firmly back Han Wang-gi so he can work to the fullest as Pyeongchang's worker."
National Assembly member Maeng Seong-gyu, who served as Gangwon Province vice governor for economic affairs, also called Han "the only candidate who equally combines drive and sincerity toward county residents," and Kim Nam-joon, a former Blue House Spokesperson and preliminary candidate for Incheon Gyeyang-B, sent a video message of support.
Han said, "With a desperate resolve that if I lose this election, Pyeongchang's future loses and we all lose, I am strengthening my determination," adding, "Rather than flashy policies, I will show heartfelt actions that change residents' lives."
