The National Pension Service said on the 5th that it will launch the "non-face-to-face account change safety block service" on the 6th to prevent financial crimes such as voice phishing.
This service blocks all account changes made through non-face-to-face channels, including the National Pension Service website and mobile application, phone, fax, and mail. It can fundamentally prevent a third party from stealing a beneficiary's certificate and arbitrarily changing the pension payment account. Applications for the service can be made via the agency's website and application, phone, and mail.
After applying for the service, to change an account or cancel the service, the beneficiary must visit a branch of the agency in person to verify identity. Jeong Tae-gyu, the agency's pension director, said, "It will serve as a reliable safety net to protect pensions by preventing account changes against the beneficiary's intent."
