Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon registered as a preliminary candidate for the Busan Buk-gu Gap by-election.
After completing his preliminary candidate registration at the Buk-gu election commission in Busan on the afternoon of the 4th, the former leader met with reporters and said, "My victory in this election will be the way to properly keep the hard-right politics of the Lee Jae-myung administration in check."
The former leader said, "Buk-gu Gap has always been lower priority among Busan's 18 constituencies for 20 years," and added, "Han Dong-hoon will make Buk-gu Busan's No. 1 priority and Korea's No. 1 priority."
Regarding the People Power Party's move to nominate a candidate in Buk-gu Gap, he said, "The pro-leadership faction of Jang Dong-hyeok says it will fail to properly check President Lee Jae-myung, who intends to 'withdraw the indictment,' and will focus solely on blocking Han Dong-hoon," adding, "This is not proper politics. I will win and rebuild the conservative camp."
He went on to say, "The president's attempt to withdraw the indictment in his own case is clearly grounds for impeachment," adding, "I will stop it together with the people."
