Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party candidate for Seoul mayor, on the 30th held a June 3 local election "sure-win resolution" rally with local election candidates from the party's Seoul chapter. People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok did not attend the event.
That morning, Oh took the stage wearing a red vest, the party's symbolic color, at the People Power Party Seoul chapter's sure-win resolution rally held at the National Assembly.
He said, "We are red," adding, "It may be a situation where wearing red clothes gives you pause, but we are red. Let's put on red and win this time."
Oh said, "Seoul citizens I have met quietly grasp my hand and say, 'Please win, you can win. Be sure to win and stop President Lee Jae-myung's runaway and the Democratic Party's dictatorship,' and they quietly pass along such words," adding, "It is a difficult situation and a tough environment, but we must repay the citizens who firmly trust us and send their solid support with victory."
He went on, "Now Seoul is the heart, the very center, of a great Republic of Korea heading toward $40,000 in per capita income," adding, "Over the next four years, let's make Seoul the most spotlighted city among global metropolises—one of the most competitive and where quality of life is most palpable—a special city for quality of life."
Oh also said, "Let's script a come-from-behind victory drama rising from rock bottom, chill President Lee Jae-myung's nerves with a nationwide win, and together build the springboard for victory in the next general election and the next presidential election."
Regarding Democratic Party of Korea candidate Chong Won-o, he said, "Not once has there been a heartfelt reflection on the real estate market wrecked by the Moon Jae-in administration and Mayor Park Won-soon," adding, "Seoul citizens remember clearly that they left Seoul on a supply glacier."
Bae Hyun-jin, the Seoul chapter chair and a lawmaker, said, "Seoul is not just an administrative district but the heart and main base of the Republic of Korea," adding, "We cannot hand over the sacred capital Seoul to forces that have held it back with lies, agitation, or stoppage."
She continued, "At a time when the foundations of legislation, administration, and the judiciary are all being shaken by the Democratic Party's runaway, I believe the 10 million citizens of the nation's capital, Seoul, will act as the counterbalance," adding, "The last bastion to set this right is the candidates and nominees here."
People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok, floor leader Song Eon-seog, senior supreme council member Shin Dong-wook, who represents a Seoul district, and other key leadership figures did not attend the Seoul chapter's sure-win resolution rally that day. Around the same time, Jang held a meeting with the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprise (KFME) at the National Assembly.
