Jung Chung-rae of the Democratic Party of Korea said on the 26th that "in Daegu, Kim Boo-kyum is a sure winning card," adding that the party will do what it should do and refrain from what it should not to secure Kim Boo-kyum's victory.
Jung attended the opening ceremony of Kim Boo-kyum's campaign office in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, on the afternoon of the 26th and said, "Victory in the June 3 local elections is the key and the shortcut to the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration," expressing support for the candidate.
He added, "We will fight the Daegu–North Gyeongsang election with Kim Boo-kyum as its face. The central party will support but will not interfere," and said, "If Kim Boo-kyum tells the party leader to come, we will come; if he says not to come, we will not. We will provide tailored support and cooperation exactly as Kim Boo-kyum wants."
Jung also said, "I have set 'Euratchacha Kim Boo-kyum' as the campaign copy," adding, "'Rat' is RAT in English, and we will actively support at the entire party level to make Daegu the capital of robots, and the party will take the lead in making it the capital of AX (AI transition)."
He continued, "We also promise, in the party's name, to give full support to building the new TK airport, and we will push firmly, as a party project, the integration of Daegu–North Gyeongsang and North Gyeongsang–Daegu as soon as Kim Boo-kyum is elected," stressing, "For Kim Boo-kyum and Daegu, I said I wanted to become the 'do-anything center director,' and that has not changed."
