Choo Mi-ae, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for Gyeonggi governor, said on the 24th that she would complete a mega semiconductor cluster linking Suwon, Yongin, Hwaseong, Seongnam, Anseong, Pyeongtaek, Osan and Icheon to the world's highest standard.
Choo visited the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi, that day and said, "The Gyeonggi Province semiconductor cluster is a key task that will determine the future of the Korean economy."
She added, "With speed and drive, we will surely complete the world's best semiconductor cluster," and said, "If we win the local elections, the president, the governor, the mayors and the lawmakers will be a solid one team, and as one team we will take responsibility to the end and prove it with results."
Joining Choo on her schedule that day were Democratic Party of Korea Pyeongtaek mayoral candidate Choi Won-yong and Yongin mayoral candidate Hyun Geun-taek. Key executives including Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jun Young-hyun, President Kim Yong-gwan, President Kim Wan-pyo and President Baek Soo-hyun were also present.
Choo then visited the site of the Yongin National Industrial Complex for advanced system semiconductors and the SK hynix cluster construction site.
