Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon aimed at Democratic Party of Korea Seoul mayoral candidate Chong Won-o, who will face the People Power Party candidate, himself, in the June 3 local elections, saying there is a high possibility he will become Lee Jae-myung (the president)'s yes-man and adding, especially on the issue of dwellings, he won't be able to say a word and will be dragged along.
Oh appeared on the TV CHOSUN YouTube channel on the morning of the 24th and, regarding the president criticizing the long-term holding special deduction for real estate (jangteukgong), said, on this matter alone, if Chong is a Seoul mayoral candidate, he must make his position clear.
Oh said the median price of Seoul apartments is 1.2 billion won and the average price exceeds 1.3 billion won. If you live in a 2 billion won apartment, sell to move, and buy again, you can't get back into a 2 billion won apartment, he said, adding that without the special deduction, several hundred million won easily goes out in taxes.
He went on, on such a grave matter, he should be able to say in a clear tone, "I oppose it; the president is thinking about this the wrong way," at least to that extent, adding, he won't be able to do it, because he is a "Myung-pick" (Lee Jae-myung pick) candidate.
Oh said of Chong that he will be Park Won-soon (former Seoul mayor) season 2. He said, during Park Won-soon's tenure, 1.0222 trillion won flowed out of the Seoul city government to left-leaning civic groups. It would help the election if the leader reduced his range of activity, he said. He then added, hasn't the time come for his own self-restraint or a decision.
