Prime Minister Kim Min-seok said on the 22nd, "The government will swiftly execute more than 85% within the first half of the year of the 10.5 trillion won budget for key projects to ease the burden of high oil prices, stabilize livelihoods, and minimize industrial damage."
Kim said the same at the 8th high-level ruling party-government consultative meeting held in the afternoon at the prime minister's official residence in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, noting, "Now is the time for the party and the government to shoulder responsibility together and show the public that we are looking after people's livelihoods."
Kim noted, "Among the core bills that must be handled in the first half, quite a few have yet to pass the National Assembly," and asked for the Assembly's cooperation to pass measures including the materials, parts and equipment act, the strategic export finance support act, the national medical school act, the Telecommunications Business Act, and the jeonse fraud victims support act.
Kim said, "In the end, the party and the government must have perfect coordination, and the purpose of perfect coordination is competent improvement of people's livelihoods," adding, "Let us be the party and the government that reach out first when the public is anxious and move first in a crisis."
