Photos were released of Kim Jong-un, North Korea's Chairperson of the State Affairs Commission, touring commercial facilities in the Stage 4 area of the Hwasong district, a "new city of Pyongyang," with his wife, Ri Sol-ju, and their daughter, Ju-ae.
Korean Central News Agency reported on the 3rd that "the Chairperson inspected various service facilities in the Stage 4 area of the Hwasong district and learned about the state of preparations for operation."
In photos released by Korean Central News Agency, the Chairperson is seen petting a puppy at the "Hwasong Pet Shop," which offers pet adoptions and sells care supplies. A scene of Ju-ae stroking a cat was also reported.
In addition, visits were made to the "Masan Automobile Technical Service Center," a car repair shop, the "Hwasong Musical Instrument Shop," as well as a barbershop and a beauty salon. At the instrument shop, the Chairperson was captured beaming while listening to a man playing the guitar.
The photos highlighted the warm scenes of the Chairperson and Ju-ae. By contrast, Ri stood at a distance watching the father and daughter.
The unveiled facilities boasted glamorous exteriors. The pet shop includes pet bathing and grooming facilities and a playroom. The instrument shop features a variety of instruments, including guitars, violins, cellos, trumpets, and pianos.
The Chairperson said, "Along with introducing various service sectors that can meet the people's rising material and cultural needs, it is necessary to focus on enhancing professionalism."
According to Korean Central News Agency, the Hwasong district commercial facilities will open for business on Apr. 15, the birthday of President Kim Il-sung.
