According to the regular asset disclosure for public officials released by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee of the Ministry of Personnel Management on the 26th, the Minister reported total assets of 7,403,912,000 won, including an apartment in Seoul's Dongdaemun District owned by a spouse. Due to changes in apartment values and other factors, the amount increased by 535,050,000 won from the previous filing.
The largest share consists of deposits held by the Minister and a spouse. The Minister reported 2,612,400,000 won, and the spouse reported 2,019,460,000 won. Including three sons, the reported deposit assets total 4,813,920,000 won.
Including the Minister's U.S. and Brazil Government Bonds and a spouse's shares in Naver, Hyundai Motor, and LG Energy Solution, the securities assets reported by the Minister amount to 1,363,390,000 won. In addition, the Minister reported 438,130,000 won in political funds.
Vice Minister Lee Doo-hee of the Ministry of National Defense reported total assets of 841,810,000 won. Real estate assets, including an apartment in Eunpyeong District under the official's name and a single-family home in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, amount to 748,530,000 won.
Jin Yong-sung, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), reported total assets of 2,630,020,000 won, including a single-family home in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang, and an apartment in Anyang owned personally. The amount increased by 318,870,000 won from the previous filing, driven by an increase in a spouse's stock assets. Jin's spouse holds 1,135,450,000 won in shares including Nature Cell.
Army Chief of Staff Kim Gyu-ha reported 930,020,000 won in total, including an officetel in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, valued at about 650,000,000 won. Air Force Chief of Staff Son Seok-rak reported a total of 1,265,120,000 won, including 749,270,000 won in deposits under the official's name. Navy Chief of Staff Kim Kyung-ryul, who took office on the 25th, reported assets totaling 1,397,270,000 won, including an apartment in Dongjak District under the official's name.
Air Operations Command chief Cha Jun-seon reported the most in the military, with assets of 3,837,860,000 won. Real estate assets, including personally owned forest and rice paddies and parents' rice paddies, amount to 1,985,710,000 won, and deposit assets held by the official, a spouse, and parents total 1,554,980,000 won.
Hong So-young, commissioner of the Military Manpower Administration, registered total assets of 1,664,930,000 won, including an apartment and an officetel in Sejong City under the official's name.
Baek Seung-joo, head of The War Memorial of Korea Association, reported assets of 4,583,100,000 won. At the time of the previous filing, Baek reported a little over 4,210,000,000 won, the largest among asset disclosure subjects in the Ministry of National Defense and the military. The amount increased by 369,420,000 won, influenced by an increase in the eldest son's stocks and changes in the appraised value of an apartment in Yongsan District under the official's name.
