In the disclosure of assets for senior public officials whose status changed at the end of last year, Chair Moon Ae-ri of the Korea Foundation for Women In Science, Engineering and Technology (WISET) under the Ministry of Science and ICT ranked first. Moon's assets were tallied at a total of 8.3 billion won.
The Ministry of Personnel Management on the 20th announced the results of asset disclosures for 100 senior public officials with this content. This disclosure covered senior public officials whose status changed from Dec. 2 last year to Jan. 1 this year.
Moon held land and roads worth more than 2.9 billion won across Yongsan-gu and Seongbuk-gu in Seoul and Yangju, Gyeonggi. Building asset was also substantial. She owned two apartments in Gwangjin-gu and Songpa-gu in Seoul, and held equity stakes in commercial properties totaling 25 cases. The aggregates of building asset came to 4.59649 billion won.
Second among incumbents was Kim Eun-kyung, head of the Korea INclusive Finance Agency (KINFA) under the Financial Services Commission, with total assets of 7.92524 billion won. Kim held an ACRO River Park apartment in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, divided under her name and those of her elder and younger sons. Including a multi-family house in Banpo-dong, real estate asset was about 6.5 billion won. She also reported deposits of 767.61 million won, 432.7 million won in private bonds, and about 30 million won worth of gold.
Third among incumbents was Park Sung-hyeok, president of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with total assets of 6.30617 billion won. Domestic and overseas real estate, including an apartment in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, and dwellings and apartments in New Jersey, United States, amounted to about 4.8 billion won. Also included was a Tower Palace apartment in Gangnam, Seoul, under the mother's name. In Hallim-eup, Jeju City, Park also owned land worth about 100 million won. Stocks, including overseas names such as Nvidia and Tesla, totaled about 600 million won, and deposits were about 700 million won.
Among retirees, former Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency Vice Administrator Lim Sook-young ranked first with 7.03659 billion won. Building asset, including apartments in Sejong and Jongno-gu, Seoul, and a detached house in Uiseong-gun, North Gyeongsang, was 1.73142 billion won; deposits were about 1.2 billion won; and stocks exceeded 4 billion won.
Former North Gyeongsang Provincial Council member Kim Kyung-sook ranked second with 5.97993 billion won. Land asset, including rice paddies, forest land, and lots in the Mungyeong and Sangju areas of North Gyeongsang, was 1.56036 billion won, and building asset, including commercial units, apartments, warehouses, and factories, reached 1.963 billion won. Vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, totaled six units worth about 757.7 million won, and deposits were shown to exceed 2.3 billion won.
Former Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Kim Chang-sik ranked third with 5.65 billion won. He was tallied as holding an apartment in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul (about 1.8 billion won) and deposits exceeding 3.8 billion won.
