It appears that Democratic Party of Korea Commissioner Jin Sung-joon will serve as chairperson of the Special Committee on Budget & Accounts of the National Assembly.
Cheon Joon-ho, Democratic Party floor operations senior deputy chief, and Yoo Sang-bum, People Power Party floor operations senior deputy chief, met at the National Assembly on the 10th and agreed to recommend Commissioner Jin Sung-joon for the vacant budget committee chair. With President Lee Jae-myung mentioning a supplementary budget, the National Assembly also appears set to fill the budget chair in preparation for the supplementary budget.
The ruling and opposition parties also agreed to handle more than 60 livelihood-related bills at a plenary session of the National Assembly on the 12th. Cheon, the floor operations senior deputy chief, said, "At the plenary session on the 12th, we will give priority to handling the special act on investment in the United States and process more than 60 livelihood and reform bills agreed upon by the ruling and opposition parties," adding, "We agreed to discuss the specific contents of the bills later."
Yoo, the floor operations senior deputy chief, said, "The People Power Party strongly requested the handling of the special act on integrating Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, but as there has been no change in the Democratic Party's existing position, it appears difficult for the bill to be realized."
