The government on the 5th issued Level 4 travel advisories, which constitute a travel ban, for all of Iran.
The move comes amid deteriorating conditions in the Middle East following U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, based on an assessment that the personal safety of our nationals could be severely threatened if they remain on the ground.
Previously, a Level 3 advisory, recommending departure, was in place for all of Iran, but the latest measure raises it to a travel ban. Accordingly, visiting or staying in Iran without exceptional authorization to use a passport may be punishable under provisions of the Passport Act.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "We ask our nationals planning to travel to the area to cancel their trips, and those currently staying there to evacuate."
