The government said on the 27th that it would solicit public proposals to select items to be examined by the task force (TF) of ministers for special management of essential consumer prices.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy said it would run a "public proposal window" starting today together with the Korea National Council of Consumer Organizations (the council). The council plans to conduct preliminary work such as on-site inspections and cause analysis for the proposed items. The essential consumer prices TF will also analyze the problems and discuss improvement measures.
The previous day, the essential consumer prices TF selected school uniforms as the first item for special management and released related measures. The essential consumer prices TF also rolled out improvement plans such as expanding school-led group purchases and inspecting unfair practices such as collusion in distribution.
The ministry said, "Members of the public who wish to offer opinions can participate through the websites of the council and relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Korea Fair Trade Commission, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs."
