The People Power Party announced its first and second talent recruits ahead of the June 3 local elections.
Jo Jeong-hun, the People Power Party's talent recruitment chairperson, said on the 25th in the National Assembly at a welcome ceremony for regional development talent that the party would recruit Son Jeong-hwa, a partner at Samil PWC accounting firm, and Jeong Jin-woo, a manager on the energy sales team at Hyundai Engineering, as the No. 1 and No. 2 recruits for the local elections.
Chairperson Jo said, "Accountant Son is a talent who worked as a certified public accountant for 20 years and directly confirmed through local government finance experience how taxes are executed on the ground and in what structures they are distorted," adding, "Manager Jeong, too, has devoted themself directly on the front lines of the power industry ecosystem for Korea's nuclear power generation industry."
Representative Jang Dong-hyeok said, "Even though livelihoods are on the brink due to high inflation, a strong dollar, and a direct hit from real estate, it is a plain reality that the public has not readily given their hearts to our party," adding, "That is because we have fallen short. We must approach the people in a new way."
He went on, "Competent talent who know the realities of people's livelihoods well and can present alternatives, strong fighters who can stand with the people and boldly confront the administration," adding, "We will foster them as the driving force of our party's innovation."
