The Central Accident Control Headquarters for African swine fever (Central Headquarters) said on the 23rd that African swine fever occurred at a pig farm in Uiryeong County, South Gyeongsang. It is the 20th case of African swine fever this year.
The Central Headquarters plans to cull the pigs being raised. The farm had been raising 11,000 pigs. The Central Headquarters has dispatched initial quarantine teams and other personnel to the site to control the entry of outsiders and vehicles to the farm, and is disinfecting nearby roads to block contamination.
The Central Headquarters issued a 24-hour movement ban for workers and vehicles at livestock-related facilities such as pig farms, slaughterhouses, and feed factories in six cities and counties in South Gyeongsang (Uiryeong, Hapcheon, Changnyeong, Haman, Jinju, Sancheong).
