The People Power Party's new party name candidates have been narrowed down to two: "Future Alliance" and "Republican Party to Open the Future."
On the 21st, the brand strategy task force (TF) in charge of revising the People Power Party's name said it reached this consensus.
The two new party name candidates are scheduled to be reported to the Supreme Council on the 22nd. After a general meeting of lawmakers, the final decision is expected to be made through a party member preference survey.
However, a different party name from the two proposed by the TF could be adopted at the final stage.
With the June 3 local elections approaching, the People Power Party leadership plans to complete the party name revision process within this month. The policy is to allow the new party name to be used on banners and other materials starting on March 1.
This is the first time in about 5 years and 6 months that the People Power Party has changed its name since switching from the United Future Party (UFP) in September 2020.
