Bae Hyun-jin of the People Power Party on the 19th urged, "Convene the Supreme Council immediately and nullify the unjust disciplinary action," referring to the party Central Ethics Committee's decision to suspend her party membership for one year.
Bae said on Facebook that day, "At today's Supreme Council meeting, when Supreme Council member Woo Jae-joon proposed canceling (my) disciplinary action, party leader Jang Dong-hyeok suddenly replied, 'I'll think about it,'" and stated accordingly.
She continued, "Leader Jang had, until just yesterday, repeatedly said through the media that 'canceling the disciplinary action is not even under review.' I hope it is not a ploy to deliberately delay the timeline and neutralize the window to correct this, by changing his stance in a day as if there is room for reconsideration, when the candidate nominations for the March election are imminent."
She added, "Leader Jang himself has emphasized that his political life depends on the Seoul election," and said, "If there is even the slightest intent to genuinely reconsider this situation and resolve what he started, he should not hide behind the ambiguous word 'review' via the Spokesperson."
Bae said, "There is ample reason to convene the Supreme Council today to respond to former President Yoon's sentencing as well. (Only nullifying the disciplinary action) is the sole way to prove sincerity," adding, "I hope you will prove through action that this is not about excluding the working-level general manager who devoted six months and trying to control Seoul nominations at will."
