President Lee Jae-myung visited CGV Yongsan with first lady Kim Hea-kyung on Feb. 17, Lunar New Year's Day, to watch the film "The Man Who Lives With the King."
Right before the screening, the president wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "We came to watch a movie, the power of Korean culture. For now, where we are and which film we are seeing is a secret." The presidential office disclosed the title and location after the president finished watching.
Director Jang Hang-jun's film "The Man Who Lives With the King" is set in the Joseon era. After Danjong is deposed, it depicts him spending his final days in exile in Yeongwol, Gangwon, with the village head and residents.
Actors Park Ji-hoon as Danjong, Yoo Hae-jin as the village head, Yoo Ji-tae as Han Myeong-hoe, and Jeon Mi-do as a court lady appear. On this day, it became the first release of the year to surpass 3 million admissions.
