Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, the government is strengthening the rescue system for lost and abandoned animals. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs said on the 12th that it will support reporting and rescue through the National Animal Protection Information System.
If you find a lost or abandoned animal nearby during the holiday, you can access the National Animal Protection Information System and enter a photo, the place where it was found, and other details. The information is automatically sent by text message to the relevant local government official. Local governments will use it to carry out rescues.
If you lose a companion animal, you can also use the "animal lost" board within the system. Information such as the location of the lost animal can be shared through comments. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs noted that if the animal is registered, return can be made more quickly.
It also provides information on animal hospitals that can provide treatment to prepare for sudden illnesses during the holiday. You can check it on the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs website and the National Animal Protection Information System.
Joo Won-cheol, director general of the Animal Welfare Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, said, "Preparation is necessary in advance to enjoy the Lunar New Year holiday with companion animals," adding, "Animal hospitals that operate during the holiday can be checked on the relevant websites."
