President Lee Jae-myung on the 4th invited the heads of Korea's 10 largest business groups to Cheong Wa Dae and held a "corporate meeting to expand youth jobs and regional investment." Attending as corporate heads were Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Vice Chairman Choi Chang-won, Hyundai Motor Chairman Chung Eui-sun, LG Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, Lotte Chairman Shin Dong-bin, POSCO Chairman Chang In-hwa, Hanwha Vice Chairman Kim Dong-Kwan, HD Hyundai Chairman Chung Ki-sun, GS Chairman Huh Tae-soo, and Hanjin Chairman Cho Won-tae.
Lee entered the meeting room at 2 p.m. and began greeting attendees. Lee asked Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, "I heard you had an overseas schedule but canceled it to come here?" Lee Jae-yong replied, "Of course."
Earlier, Lee Jae-yong spoke with Lotte Chairman Shin Dong-bin for about five minutes. Lee was also seen nodding at Shin's remarks.
Koo Kwang-mo, the LG chairman, and HD Hyundai Chairman Chung Ki-sun also talked while pointing to documents placed on the table.
From Cheong Wa Dae, Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik, Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom, Senior Secretary for Economic Growth Ha Jun-kyung, Senior Secretary for AI Future Planning Ha Jung-woo, Protocol Secretary Kwon Hyuk-ki, Secretary for Growth Economy Lee Dong-jin, Secretary for Industrial Policy Yoon Sung-hyuk, and Senior Secretary for Public Relations and Communications Lee Kyu-yeon attended the meeting. From the government, Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Koo Yun-cheol and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jung-kwan attended.
From the business community, Federation of Korean Industries Chairman Ryu Jin and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice Chairman Park Il-jun attended along with the heads of the 10 groups.
