The People Power Party said on the 25th that it "offers deep condolences for the sudden sad news" of the passing of Lee Hae-chan, senior vice chair of The Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PUAC) and former prime minister.
Chief spokesperson Choi Bo-yun noted that "Senior Vice Chair Lee spent many years at the center of politics, serving seven terms as a lawmaker and as prime minister."
Choi added, "The path from starting in the dissident movement to taking responsibility for state affairs will remain a scene in our political history," and "We offer our sincere prayers for the deceased. We also extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family who are in sorrow along with the people."
Lee Jun-seok, leader of the Reform Party, also wrote on his Facebook page, "For many years, you fulfilled your duties on the front lines of Korean politics," and "We offer our deep condolences."
