President Lee Jae-myung will invite the ruling party leadership to the Blue House on the 19th to host a dinner meeting. It will be eight days since the leadership was reshuffled through a by-election on the 11th.
According to the Blue House on the 18th, on the 19th the president will discuss national affairs over dinner with party leaders including Democratic Party of Korea leader Jung Chung-rae and new floor leader Han Byung-do.
This dinner inviting the ruling party leadership comes as four party leadership members, including the floor leader, were newly elected and the administration enters its second year. Earlier, the Democratic Party of Korea held a by-election on the 11th after former floor leader Kim Byung-kee, mired in various allegations, resigned and three Supreme Council members expressed their intention to step down to run in the June local elections.
At the dinner, the president is expected to call for smooth party-government relations, completion of reform agendas, and cooperation with opposition parties including the People Power Party. Earlier, on the 16th, at a luncheon inviting leaders of both ruling and opposition parties, the president repeatedly emphasized "national unity."
