With People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok carrying out what is being called a "double special counsel hunger strike," Reform Party leader Lee Jun-seok has decided to shorten his overseas trip and return home early.
The Reform Party said on the 17th that Lee had planned to return on the 23rd after conducting parliamentary diplomacy in Mexico and Guatemala with People Power Party member and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joo Ho-young, but he will come back on the 21st.
Lee plans to work with People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyeok to discuss ways to press the Democratic Party of Korea to accept special counsels on the Unification Church and nomination bribery. However, a joint hunger strike with Jang, who has declared an indefinite fast, is not under consideration for now.
