Choi In-ho, a former Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker who served in the 20th and 21st National Assembly, recently left the party. The former lawmaker is regarded as a strong candidate for the next president of the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG).
According to the political sphere on the 16th, the Democratic Party of Korea at a Supreme Council meeting that morning reviewed and designated the Busan Saha-gu Gap district committee, where the former lawmaker served as Chairperson, as an accident committee.
The former lawmaker is considered a strong candidate for president of HUG. The former lawmaker also served as a secretary of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee.
On the same day, the Democratic Party designated the district committee for Yeoju and Yangpyeong in Gyeonggi, where former lawmaker Choi Jae-gwan serves as Chairperson, as an accident committee on the grounds of "leaving the party due to appointment to public office." Former lawmaker Choi Jae-gwan took office that day as the new chair of the Korea Energy Agency (KEA).
