The final joint campaign rally for the Democratic Party of Korea's Supreme Council by-election was held on the 11th. Candidates aligned with the pro-Jung Chung-rae camp and the party leadership called for forming a "one-team" centered on the Jung Chung-rae leadership, while candidates aligned with the pro-Lee Jae-myung camp and outside the leadership emphasized strengthening communication with the presidential office.
The Democratic Party of Korea held a joint campaign rally for the Supreme Council by-election candidates at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the same day. Immediately after the candidates' policy speeches ended, voting began.
All Supreme Council candidates stressed victory in the June 3 local elections and the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration. However, in terms of approach, lawmakers Lee Sung-yoon and Moon Jeong-bok, who are in the leadership camp, emphasized rallying around the Jung Chung-rae leadership, while lawmakers Kang Deuk-gu and Lee Geon-tae, who are outside the leadership, highlighted strengthening communication with President Lee Jae-myung, showing a difference.
Lawmaker Lee Sung-yoon, classified as part of the leadership camp, said, "Together with President Lee and Representative Jung Chung-rae, we will unite as a 'one-team Democratic Party' to win the local elections and support the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration as a 'big-team Korea,'" adding, "Now, we urgently need a Supreme Council member who can serve as a bridge connecting the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, the party leadership, the judiciary committee, and party members."
Lawmaker Moon Jeong-bok similarly said, "We need a 'one-team Democratic Party' centered on the Jung Chung-rae leadership. The Democratic Party is strongest when it stands as one," adding, "We must fight the local elections with the party's stable strength. The Jung Chung-rae leadership will prove itself with results."
By contrast, those outside the leadership further highlighted ties with the president. Lawmaker Kang Deuk-gu said, "The most important condition for winning the local elections, from first to last, is the president's approval rating," adding, "The party, the government, and the presidential office must move in perfect lockstep without the slightest discord. The Democratic Party must steadfastly support President Lee so he can govern stably."
Lawmaker Lee Geon-tae said, "I defended President Lee against the political prosecutors. I will make public sentiment, party sentiment, and Myeong-sim flow smoothly through me, Lee Geon-tae," adding, "With a direct line, a Myeong line, and a party–Blue House hotline, I will be the president's Supreme Council member and the Supreme Council member for each and every party member."
