The Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) said on the 11th that it selected and honored a total of 15 people, including the 2025 employees of the year among labor inspectors and industrial safety inspectors.

Ten people were selected as the 2025 labor inspectors of the year. In the labor case resolution category, four people were chosen, including Labor Inspector Lee Jeong-uk of the Busan Northern District Office, who conducted an arrest investigation of an employer who withheld 1.45 billion won in wages and gave 12 billion won in company funds to relatives.

In the labor supervision category, four people made the list, including Labor Inspector Park Mi-seon of the Daejeon Office, who conducted a special supervision of prime contractors and subcontractors, uncovered illegal dispatch, and ordered the prime contractor to directly hire 41 people.

In the labor-management cooperation category, two people won awards, including Labor Inspector Jang Sun-ho of the Seoul Office, who resolved conflicts at business sites with acute labor-management disputes through proactive guidance.

Five people were selected as the 2025 industrial safety inspectors of the year, including Industrial Safety Inspector Kim In of the Gyeonggi Office, who analyzed 20,000 pages of investigative materials related to a bridge collapse accident that caused multiple fatalities and referred two responsible persons to prosecutors under arrest.

Five departments were chosen as the labor inspection departments of the year: the Metropolitan Labor Standards Supervision Division of the Seoul Office; the Labor Standards Supervision Division of the Seoul Western District Office; the Labor Standards Investigation Division of the Gangwon District Office; the Metropolitan Labor Standards Supervision Division of the Gwangju Office; and the Labor Standards Investigation Divisions 1 and 2 of the Daejeon Office.

Minister Kim Young-hoon said, "I hope you will do your best this year as well, with the belief that the workplaces of workers become more just and safer in proportion to the sweat shed by labor inspectors."
