The People Power Party junior lawmakers' group "Alternative and Future" assessed Jang Dong-hyeok's reform plan by saying, "Innovation at the level of reconstruction is needed, but today Jang Dong-hyeok's reform plan remains at the level of interior decoration."
Twenty-five People Power Party lawmakers affiliated with Alternative and Future issued a statement on the afternoon of the 7th, saying, "Today's message should have included a clear position on a definitive break with former President Yoon Suk-yeol, the political forces that have defended martial law, and election-fraud conspiracy theorists," and stated accordingly.
They emphasized, "To cross the river of martial law and impeachment, there must first be a clear judgment and reflection on what that river was," adding, "A stance that seeks to gloss over it ambiguously is no different from avoiding and turning back out of fear of the river, not crossing it."
They also noted, "You spoke of unity and solidarity, but there is still no visible, concrete solution for how to mend the current internal conflict and lead it toward harmony."
They went on to say, "Declare a clear break with former President Yoon and the political forces that have defended martial law, and with election-fraud conspiracy theorists, and set out clearly the values and vision that the party will pursue going forward," adding, "Also, present concrete measures to achieve internal harmony and solidarity with reasonable conservative forces outside the party."
They said, "Winning change and a new beginning must start with a break from a wrongful past," adding, "It can be completed by establishing values and a vision that reflect the spirit of the times and by preparing a bigger vessel to realize unity and solidarity."
Meanwhile, lawmakers belonging to "Alternative and Future" are 25 in total, including Lee Seong-gwon, Shin Seong-beom, Kwon Young-jin, Eom Tae-young, Park Jeong-ha, Cho Eun-hee, Ko Dong-jin, Kim Geon, and Kim Yong-tae.
