Wi Sung-lac, Office of National Security chief at the Blue House, on the 5th assessed the Korea-China summit between President Lee Jae-myung and Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying it "solidified the trend of a full restoration of Korea-China relations based on deep friendship and firm trust."
The Deputy Minister held a briefing at the Beijing press center in China that afternoon and said, "President Lee Jae-myung completed reciprocal-visit diplomacy with the leaders of the United States, China, and Japan within seven months of taking office and solidified the trend of a full restoration of relations between Korea and China," adding, "Through this summit, we were able to reconfirm that the Korea-China strategic cooperative partnership is an important diplomatic asset for both countries."
He added, "The two leaders formed a consensus to continue meeting every year," and said, "They agreed to restore strategic dialogue channels in various fields, including foreign affairs and security authorities, to strengthen political trust between the two countries."
The Deputy Minister added, "The two sides agreed to seek ways to contribute to peace and stability in the region by expanding communication and exchanges between the two countries' defense authorities and enhancing mutual trust."
