Assets in the names of Minister of the Ministry of Planning and Budget nominee Lee Hye-hoon and her family increased by more than 10 billion won over 10 years.
According to the confirmation hearing request for the nominee submitted to the National Assembly on the 5th, the assets of the nominee, the spouse, and three children total 17.56952 billion won. This is said to be about 11 billion won more than the 6.596 billion won the nominee reported to the National Assembly Public Officials' Ethics Committee in 2016, when the nominee was a 20th National Assembly member.
Of that, the nominee's own assets amount to 2.72966 billion won. The spouse's assets are 10.14549 billion won, and the three children's assets are 4.69436 billion won.
The nominee reported real estate including an apartment in Seocho-gu, Seoul (3.70954 billion won), a jeonse right for an apartment in Sejong Special Self-Governing City (173.3 million won), and a jeonse right for a building in Jung-gu, Seoul (10 million won).
Not only the nominee but also the spouse and children hold shares in KSM, an unlisted semiconductor manufacturer. The nominee reported holding 1.2265 billion won worth of KSM shares. The spouse holds 3.31478 billion won of the same company's shares, and the three children each hold 1.03871 billion won. The KSM shares held by the nominee's family total 7.6 billion won.
Deposits in the nominee's name total 47.58 million won, and deposits in the spouse's name total 461.65 million won. The nominee's spouse owns three vehicles: a 2020 Porsche Panamera 4, a 2019 Kia K9, and a 2018 Toyota Camry.
Regarding this, the Ministry of Planning and Budget said there was "no substantive change in assets," adding that "family company unlisted shares were tied up in a blind trust and excluded from asset reporting but were reported this time, and as the basis changed from par value to appraised value, the assets rose sharply."
