The Constitution-Respecting Government Innovation task force (TF) investigating public officials who took part in the Dec. 3 martial law said on the 5th that it would not discipline those who report on their own whether they participated in the rebellion before the investigation. This follows President Lee Jae-myung's instruction at a Cabinet meeting on the 2nd to establish principles for reduction and immunity for voluntary reporters.
If a person involved in the rebellion reports voluntarily before the TF investigation, the TF will not request disciplinary action. If necessary, it plans to issue cautions or warnings instead of personnel measures. The TF said it would consider reducing discipline if a person involved in the rebellion actively cooperates after becoming those surveyed.
