President Lee Jae-myung will personally tour Sejong, Seoul and Busan starting next week to receive year-end ministry-by-ministry briefings. Except for security matters such as diplomacy and national security, the briefings will all be broadcast live.
Presidential Office Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung held a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the 5th and stated accordingly.
The targets of the briefings include 19 ministries, five offices, 18 agencies and seven commissions, totaling 228 public institutions. Although not public institutions, related agencies with high relevance to the work will also attend. The briefings will present key results and areas for improvement from the six months since the government's launch, the future direction of work, and each ministry's key tasks, followed by an open discussion.
Kang the Spokesperson said, "As with Cabinet meetings, we will broadcast live on KTV and YouTube and make everything public to the people as a principle, but parts requiring security, such as diplomacy and national security, will be closed," adding, "This is the first time ministry-by-ministry briefings will be broadcast live, and it is a measure to share the governing philosophy of popular sovereignty with the people and to increase transparency in the policy implementation process."
Kang the Spokesperson said, "This intensive round of briefings was directly instructed by President Lee and was prepared to present the blueprint for state affairs based on popular sovereignty directly to the people and to ensure speedy policy implementation by the Cabinet."
