Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) on the 4th released the results of tests and evaluations of five products released this year: Samsung Electronics (model NT960XHA), Apple (A3241), Asus (TP3607S), Lenovo (ThinkPad X9-15Gen1), and LG Electronics (16Z90TS).
The combined weight of the laptop main unit and charger was lightest for the LG Electronics product at 1,374 g. That is 66% of the heaviest Asus product (2,085 g). The Lenovo product was 1,694 g, the Samsung Electronics product was 1,737 g, and the Apple product was 1,744 g.
The time available from a full battery charge until a low-power popup appeared was longest for the Lenovo product at 13 hours 2 minutes. Asus (9 hours 19 minutes), Samsung Electronics (8 hours 56 minutes), and Apple (6 hours 6 minutes) followed. The LG Electronics product was shortest at 5 hours 42 minutes.
In a test measuring the time from connecting the charger to when programs like a webpage and Excel fully opened using a high-speed camera, the Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics products were rated "excellent." The Apple, Asus, and Lenovo products were at the "good" level.
In a display quality test using a checkerboard with alternating white and black squares, the Apple product was rated "excellent." The Samsung Electronics, Lenovo, and LG Electronics products were "good," and the Asus product was at the "average" level. In an audio quality evaluation testing whether original sound was reproduced without distortion, the Apple, Lenovo, and LG Electronics products were rated "excellent." The Samsung Electronics product was "good," and the Asus product was at the "average" level.
In a camera quality test checking how precisely the front laptop camera renders subject information, all products received an "excellent" rating. In a test exposing operating products to static electricity to check for malfunctions, all products showed no issues.
