Former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo said of former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, "Even if he belatedly realized that a person can fall apart in an instant, the train has already left." On the 26th, Han was sought a 15-year prison term on charges including abetting the ringleaders of insurrection and engaging in key duties of insurrection.
On the 27th, Hong wrote on his social media, "What might Han Duck-soo, who was sought as much as 15 years in prison (on charges including abetting insurrection), be thinking right now," adding, "Does Han Duck-soo know that his crime is the offense of blindly following others."
He went on, "Even if he did not move actively on the declaration of martial law, if he did not move to block it, the crime is established," adding, "All of this is karma brought on by the former prime minister."
Hong said, "I even issued a public warning to Han Duck-soo to 'manage only the presidential election strictly as acting authority because your 50-year bureaucratic career could end miserably,'" adding, "I wonder why someone so cautious and thoughtful dreamed such a preposterous dream."
Hong said, "There are people who wedged Han Duck-soo into the presidential primary, ruined the primary, and handed power over to Lee Jae-myung," adding, "I do not know whether it was Yoon Suk-yeol, Kim Keon-hee, aides in the presidential office, key Yoon allies, or among the conservative media, but it is clear they only looked out for themselves."
