The Ministry of Economy and Finance said on the 7th that it held the "2025 Future Korea Idea Contest finals debate."
The debate was held to select "excellent policy ideas using AI." The aim is to increase transparency in the selection process for the contest's winners and broadly reflect the opinions of experts and proposers.
Proposers who passed the first-round screening gave presentations at the debate that day. They also held in-depth discussions with a judging panel composed of experts from each field on the policy feasibility of the proposals and directions for development.
The winners will be finalized after a second-round screening and a public vote. The government plans to award 5 million won for the grand prize, 3 million won for the top excellence award, 2 million won for the excellence award, and 1 million won for the honorable mention.
Kang Gi-ryong, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF), said, "The 'AI great transition' is a key task for Korea's future growth," adding, "We plan to actively review the proposals discussed at the debate so they can lead to actual policies."
