President Xi Jinping will return to China on the 1st after wrapping up major events, including the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju, during his three-day, two-night visit.
In the afternoon, after the South Korea–China summit held at Gyeongju National Museum, Xi also attended and completed the state banquet at Sono Calm Gyeongju. Around 7:33 p.m., Xi left the banquet venue in his protocol vehicle, a Hongqi (紅旗).
Xi, who arrived on the 30th of last month, is expected to depart from Gimhae International Airport, retracing the route he took to the APEC summit venue.
Earlier, around 3:30 p.m., before the summit began, President Lee personally welcomed Xi in front of Gyeongju National Museum and held an official welcoming ceremony. Later, President Lee, hosting Xi on a state visit, presented gifts of a Go board made of zelkova wood and a round mother-of-pearl lacquer tray. The summit that followed the welcoming ceremony lasted about 1 hour and 37 minutes.
Meanwhile, on the final day of APEC, President Lee handed over the chairmanship to Xi of China, the next APEC chair.
