The evaluation results for the 2024 the Shared Growth Index evaluation of 230 large and mid-sized corporations were released. Nineteen corporations, including Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, and Hyundai Transys, maintained the top grade for three consecutive years and were listed as "top-grade honor corporations." Lotte Department Store and LOTTE Wellfood received the top grade for the first time.
The Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership announced the "2024 the Shared Growth Index evaluation results" on the 31st. The Shared Growth Index evaluation is an indicator that quantifies the level of win-win cooperation with small and medium-sized partners by large and mid-sized corporations, calculated by combining the commission's "comprehensive evaluation" and the Fair Trade Commission's "fair trade agreement compliance evaluation."
This year's evaluation covered 230 large and mid-sized corporations. They were classified into 40 top grade, 70 excellent, 80 good, 28 average, and 12 insufficient. Six corporations under deliberation by the Fair Trade Commission had their disclosure deferred.
Nineteen corporations that maintained the top grade for three years or longer were designated as "top-grade honor corporations." Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, Hyundai Transys, KT, and SK have held this status for 11 consecutive years. Newly, LOTTE Chemical was added to the honor list.
The corporations that received the top grade for the first time this year were Lotte Department Store and LOTTE Wellfood, which is seen as an expansion of win-win cooperation activities in distribution and food. By industry, the number of top-grade corporations increased in food, information services, and distribution, while it decreased in manufacturing and construction.
Nineteen corporations saw their grades rise this year, all by one level. According to the comprehensive evaluation by the commission, the average performance score for 17 items such as funds, sales channels, and workforce for large corporations was 17.27 points (out of 30), up 0.02 points from a year earlier. The number of support cases for partner companies was 2,479, continuing to increase steadily each year.
The scale of win-win cooperation by corporations is also expanding. Ninety-one corporations provided 1.2894 trillion won to improve the wages and welfare of partner employees, and 192 corporations made grants to the win-win cooperation fund and the fund for win-win cooperation between urban and rural areas totaling 143.7 billion won. The amount under the performance-sharing program was 896.3 billion won, and payments under the win-win settlement system totaled 155 trillion won.
The commission plans to reform the Shared Growth Index evaluation system by early next year. The changes include simplifying evaluation indicators and improving the disclosure system.
Lee Dalgon, chair of the Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership, said, "the Shared Growth Index evaluation has played an important role in establishing a fair transaction order and spreading a culture of win-win cooperation," adding, "We will develop it into a system that enhances supply chain competitiveness between large and small and medium-sized corporations by reflecting on-site corporate feedback."
