As controversy continues over a photo of Kim Keon-hee visiting Gyeongbok Palace on a palace-closed day, an attorney for Kim warned that the photo distributor has been identified.
Yoo Jeong-hee, attorney for former President Yoon Suk-yeol and his spouse, wrote on her Facebook page on the 25th that there is evidence that recent photos circulating in the media of Kim's private visit to Gyeongbok Palace were distributed by an employee who worked in Yoon Suk-yeol's presidential office.
Yoo said, "Cut it out," adding, "Mr. G, who was in charge of photos for a certain team in Yoon Suk-yeol's presidential office, is now maliciously providing to the Democratic Party and progressive outlets photos related to Kim that were taken in the course of duty and held by others, such as those at Gyeongbok Palace. We have also secured a direct eyewitness."
Yoo's remarks appear to target editor Joo Jin-woo of the current affairs outlet Sisain, who, on the YouTube program "Joo Reporter Live," released a photo showing Kim visiting Gyeongbok Palace's Gyeonghoeru on Sept. 12, 2023, a palace-closed day. In the photo, Kim is wearing a black sleeveless dress and slippers with bare feet. With both hands on her waist and one knee cocked, she is looking around. Next to her is former National Education Commission chair Lee Bae-yong, who faces allegations of "selling government posts."
She went on, "The person's older brother is closely connected to a certain progressive politician, and we have even identified the personal details of Mr. G, the photo distributor, so it would be wise to stop," adding, "You should think carefully about what legal consequences distributing photos from a previous administration that you obtained through your duties, with malicious intent, might have on your personal life."
However, starting on the 26th, the post became inaccessible. It appears Yoo deleted it or set it to private.
