Prime Minister Kim Min-seok will visit the mourning altar of an Interior and Safety Ministry official, identified as A, who was in charge of handling the national computer network outage and took an extreme step, to pay his respects.
According to the prime minister's office, Kim plans to visit the mourning altar for the fallen public official in Sejong at about 8:30 p.m. on the 3rd to offer condolences.
Earlier, Kim said on his social media (SNS), "The deceased had worked day and night to restore the national computer network after the National Information Resources Service fire," and added, "We offer our deepest condolences and pray for the repose of the deceased. We extend our heartfelt comfort to the bereaved family in deep sorrow."
Presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik is also expected to visit the same mourning altar today to pay his respects and convey condolences.
