The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy shared strategies for the automobile industry to respond to overseas markets as uncertainty in the trade environment deepens.
The ministry said on the 29th that it held the 6th Trade Legal Affairs Caravan Global Forum, attended by international trade experts, law firms, and officials from the domestic automobile industry.
The forum, under the theme of strategies for the automobile industry to respond to overseas markets amid changes in the global trade environment, was prepared to discuss the challenges facing Korea's automobile industry and directions for response amid the strengthening of trade norms and environmental regulations in major countries and the reorganization of supply chains.
Specifically, there were in-depth presentations and discussions on: ◇ the global management status of the automobile and parts sectors in line with changes in the trade environment ◇ global management challenges and legal affairs needs by corporations ◇ global management and compliance strategies for automobile companies entering the Americas.
Oh Chung-jong, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's multilateral trade legal affairs officer, said, "The recent global trade environment is changing rapidly due to the strengthening of protectionism, the spread of environmental and sustainability norms, and the reorganization of supply chains," and added, "As the automobile industry is at the forefront of these trade environment changes, the government will actively support our corporations so they can proactively manage regulatory and dispute risks and secure global competitiveness."
The ministry plans to continue the Trade Legal Affairs Caravan for major industrial sectors, listen to industry difficulties, and respond proactively to trade regulations.
