Prime Minister Kim Min-seok on the 26th issued an emergency directive regarding the fire that broke out at the National Information Resources Service in Daejeon, saying to "mobilize all available equipment and personnel to ensure thorough suppression and restoration."
At about 8:15 p.m. that day, a fire broke out at the National Information Resources Service located in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. The National Information Resources Service is where the information technology (IT) systems of central and local governments and public institutions are concentrated.
Kim stressed, "Put all resources into restoring disruptions in national information systems, including the situation dissemination system (NDMS) and mobile ID, and normalize operations swiftly."
Kim also directed, "In particular, ensure there are no casualties by paying meticulous attention to the safety of firefighting personnel on the scene, including fire suppression crews, and thoroughly implement safety measures such as on-site control."
Due to the fire at the National Information Resources Service, the National Law Information Center website, which allows users to check various legal information including mobile IDs and the People's Sinmungo petition platform, was reported to be paralyzed. The Administrative Standard Code Management System, which can search codes such as those for institutions, legal dong, and road names, and some central government ministry websites are also inaccessible.
