The People Power Party carried out appointments for the general planning team that will prepare for next year's local elections.
The People Power Party said on the 18th that it appointed Na Kyung-won as chairperson of the "9th nationwide simultaneous local elections general planning team," Jeong Jeom-sik as chairperson of the "task force for innovation in evaluations of elected public officials," and Jeong Hee-yong as chairperson of the special committee on organizational reinforcement.
On this day after the Supreme Council meeting, Choi Bo-yoon, the People Power Party's senior spokesperson, met with reporters and said, "Na Kyung-won is a five-term member of our party who served as the party floor leader and as head of the Seoul Metropolitan Chapter, and, by serving as co-head of the election committee for both the presidential and general elections, showed outstanding ability in strategy formulation and organizational management for the Seoul metropolitan area, the fiercest battleground, and for nationwide elections."
Choi, the senior spokesperson, explained, "With the launch of the 9th simultaneous local elections general planning team, we used that as an opportunity to sketch out a blueprint for victory in the local elections, and through the task force that can evaluate elected public officials, we set a policy to establish fair and systematic evaluation criteria for nominating as public office candidates those who truly fight."
He also emphasized, "Through the activities of the special committee on organization and reinforcement, we will swiftly overhaul local organizations and expand the party membership structure to further strengthen the party's support base, and on that foundation, thoroughly prepare to achieve an overwhelming victory in the 9th local elections," adding, "The People Power Party, starting with today's Supreme Council approval, is finishing preparations to accelerate toward victory in next year's local elections and will do its utmost to be reborn as a party that surely wins together with the people."
