Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) said on the 17th that, as access delays occurred on the first day of booking train tickets for the Chuseok holiday, it would extend the booking hours until 4 p.m.
KORAIL had initially planned to take bookings until 1 p.m. that day, but as users flooded the app and website at the same time and delays continued, it extended the period by three hours.
However, bookings for the Honam, Jeolla, and Gangneung lines scheduled for the 18th will proceed as originally planned from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A KORAIL official said, "We are currently conducting emergency recovery work and normalizing the system in stages," adding, "We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the access disruption and will thoroughly inspect to prevent the same problem from recurring."
