Minister Song Mi-ryeong of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs asked the food industry to cooperate in stabilizing processed food prices and emphasized government–industry cooperation to expand K-food exports.
The Agriculture Ministry said on the 10th that Minister Song met with Park Jin-seon, president of the Korea Food Industry Association, in Yeouido, Seoul, to discuss measures to manage food prices and expand exports.
Minister Song said, "There are difficulties such as rising management costs and exchange rate fluctuations, but because processed foods are closely tied to people's daily lives, we ask the industry to join price-stabilization efforts such as reducing costs."
She also emphasized, "K-food is establishing itself as a global culture," adding, "The government is making 'K-food exports' a national policy task and plans to promote various new projects, including support for export organizations and infrastructure and marketing, so active cooperation from the industry is needed."
In response, Park agreed with the government's stance on processed food prices and exports and said, "We will continue cooperation while communicating closely with the government for a new leap forward for K-food."
