Early on the 7th, the Jeolla Line train, which was stopped due to heavy rain, resumed operation between Iksan and Jeonju starting at 10 a.m.
According to KORAIL, around 6:20 a.m. on that day, heavy rains in Jeonbuk flooded about 700 meters of track between Dongsan Station and Jeonju Station, halting all train operations. Afterward, KORAIL deployed personnel and pumping equipment to remove the water and conducted emergency repairs and facility inspections before resuming operations.
During the suspension, KORAIL provided alternative buses for KTX passengers. After transferring from Yongsan Station to Iksan Station by bus, they had to switch back to the train at Jeonju Station, which was unavoidable inconvenience.
Operations have normalized, but some sections are expected to have delays due to slow operations for safety measures.
A KORAIL official noted, "Passengers are advised to check the real-time train status through the app 'KORAIL Talk' or the website."
