North Korea announced Kim Jong Un's arrival in Pyongyang to residents through state media on the 6th. It also published a photo of his daughter Ju-ae.
The Labor Party's official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on the front page that "Comrade Kim Jong Un returned to Pyongyang after finishing his visit to the People's Republic of China on the afternoon of September 5." State-run radio Korea Central Broadcasting also reported Kim's return as the first news in the morning at 6 a.m.
The state media Korean Central News Agency reported Kim Jong Un's return around 10 p.m. the previous night and subsequently announced it through media aimed at residents.
The newspaper published a photo of Kim Jong Un's daughter Ju-ae standing next to her father inside the private train. Ju-ae was dressed in the same dark and neat suit as when she departed from Pyongyang on the 1st.
Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui and Labor Party Secretaries Jo Yong-won and Kim Deok-hoon, Kim Sung-nam, the party's international affairs director, Ju Chang-il, the party's propaganda and agitation director, Kim Jae-ryong, the party's discipline inspection director, and Kim Yong-su, the party's finance manager, also occupied the same compartment, having accompanied Kim during his trip to China.
The newspaper also reported a photo showing Ju-ae following Kim Jong Un as they exited the train, presumed to be at Pyongyang Station.
Internally, North Korean media typically refer to Ju-ae in general terms like "beloved child" when mentioning her accompanying Kim Jong Un, but on this occasion, as with the previous day's Central News Agency report, there was no specific mention of Ju-ae.
Earlier, Kim Jong Un arrived in Beijing using a private train to attend the '80th anniversary of the victory in the Anti-Japanese War' commemorative event with his daughter Ju-ae and others on the 2nd.
On the 3rd, he attended a military parade with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. During his visit to China, he held bilateral talks with President Xi and President Putin before departing Beijing Station around 10 p.m. on the 4th. Kim's fifth trip to China is recorded as the longest ever, lasting 4 nights and 5 days.
